Weight has absolutely nothing to do with performance or general manufacture. I can testify that the 646 is very well designed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is my 2nd Onkyo receiver and I'm very happy with it. I did quite a bit of research against the denon's in the same price range and I was confident in the TX-NR646 after having used my TX-NR607 for the last 4-6 years without a problem. Actually the only problem I did have was the on-screen menu after a few years, but that's not a major problem to me. So far my TX-NR646 has not disappointed at all! It's pushing the same Energy Take Classic 5.1 speaker system and Energy ESW-M8 subwoofer that my TX-NR607 was pushing in an L-shaped room, but with much more clarity. I hope this answer is not too late and I hope you've had no problems or concerns if you've purchased this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't why you think something has to weigh more to be a good product. I am very happy with this receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am also a Denon user. It was tough for me to make the switch. So far, I really enjoy it. However, if using ARC it will randomly switch to the ARC input if it thinks you are trying to use ARC even if you commanded it to a different input/output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just hooked up my new one. And I love it. I listen to a lot of records. Last night I put in Metallica the black album. The sound quality was amazing!!! Listening to tv was great. My sons Xbox one was great. The only thing I haven't done is watch a blu-ray.
