yes center channel for movies with sound 5.1 is important but a center speaker u can buy a used one for a low price and a sub woofer be a plus

Please try again later.When using a 5.1 surround setup, which would be your configuration even without a center you would miss about 90% of all dialog since that is the center channel speakers job is to do. It handles everythin that is on screen. Sometimes it will be on both the center and the right or left depending upon the orientation on screen. You need a center channel speaker.
