Yes, you can run your HMDI and Audio form your computer through the receiver and use the video out on the receiver to connect to your monitor.

If your PC/MAC has an output for HDMI or the old component (Yellow/Red/White connectors). There are always conversion kits that could allow you to take Display Port to HDMI for PCs or Thunderbolt to HDMI for MACs. Going this route doesn't always work though.
