QuestionCan you plug in a 4k fire stick and get surround sound out of the system I have 5.1 setup

- Answer The spec on the 4K fire stick audio says it supports "Dolby Atmos, 7.1 surround sound, 2-channel stereo, and HDMI audio pass through up to 5.1. Dolby Atmos is not currently supported on Netflix titles." -- it should work just fine. You should be able to set that input as 5.1, 7.1, or 5.1.2 without a problem.

- Answer That depends on what you mean by simultaneously. If you mean as any other input mapped to an output, yes. If you mean as an overlay on top of another signal karaoke style, no. It will only send one input to a given output at any time.

QuestionRight now I have 8 ohm speakers and was thinking of purchasing a tower set but they're only 6 ohm speakers, my question is can I run both the 6 and 8 ohm speakers at the same time on the system or does it have to be either 6 or 8 ohm only

QuestionThe Yamaha 7.1 receiver I currently own has onscreen graphics that shows any settings & adjustments on my TV. Since I'm a good distance from the receiver, I can't see the receiver's display. Does this receiver have onscreen graphics like this?

- Answer You can adjust relative volume, maximum volume, startup volume, etc., levels under setup (3-5). Also can adjust volume difference for different source volume under Intellivolume 4-1.

Questionwill be using this receiver primarily for playback of bluetooth from a cell phone. the speakers will be outside under a covered porch and the receiver will be inside just on the other side of the wall.

- Answer It would work fine for that application. The question you should be asking is where the cell phone will be relative to the receiver. I haven't been to impressed with the bluetooth connection. The connection will be in and out when I am only 15ft away with direct line of site.

QuestionWe bought a house that has Bose wired speakers at the top of 18 ft walls. I don't know model #. The wires come out of the wall about 65 ft from my Onkyo TX-NR686. See photo. I'd like to know what I need to hook up these speakers.

QuestionMy Onkyo TXNR686 bought in March, 2020 worked great for several months now it constantly goes into a diagnostic check and says either "check speaker wire" or "sw out". All speakers rewired, sub using RCA jack. Onkyo has apparently out of business.

QuestionI have the Onyko tx-nr686 receiver. I have speakers in my living room and two speakers on my outside patio. I want the outside patio on zone 2 it could be separate from the music inside the house. speakers work, zone 2 not working?

QuestionIf I turn the receiver off the signal from my cable box shuts off after a couple of minutes. Shouldn't the receiver allow pass through when it is put into standby?

QuestionI purchased an Onkyo NR 686 about a month and all Worked fine until a few days ago. Now I get no picture and just a blue screen with hdmi hdcp 2.2 with no picture but does have sound. Blue ray works just fine and not sure how to remedy this issue?

- Answer I had a similar issue a couple different times. Once the hdmi cable went bad. The other was the actual plug-in for the hdmi on the back of the TV had gone bad. Hope this helps.

- Answer Nope, came with everything, no damage and no missing parts. Suggestion; make sure you have 4k capable hdmi cables.

QuestionI see that zone 2 is analog only - won't accept the other digital inputs such as HDMI. However, I have seen similar receivers that don't do zone 2 digital, yet can still play airplay (Spotify, etc.) in zone 2. can you do that with this? Thank you.

QuestionI am running 5 TIC B03 in ground speakers and a set of porch speakers. I can bridge the porch speakers into one channel if needed but will need the 100 watts per channel on the other 5. mostly for music and sports, not movies. will this work?
