The specification is generous. The depth is actually about an inch lower including the knob in the front. I measured from the longest input wire head for clearance to the front knob and got about 13.5 inches. the unit itself from the back antennas to the front knob measures 12.5 inches.

Please try again later.The dimension includes the knob.From the knob to the back of the chassis is about 14.25inches.There is a coax connector in the back that when included totals 14.9inches. BTW this is an awesome receiver.I replaced an older Onkyo receiver in which the hdmi board died.
