If you're referring to 4K upscaling the answer is no - it doesn't upscale. We did find that it has improved the quality of the picture we're seeing on our Sony XBR 9000E 4K tv. This is purely subjective but the picture appears to be brighter and clearer. My wife has a Nintendo Switch and also noticed an improved picture for her games. Our primary usage is DirecTv and Roku and they both look better. I initially was running my signals through an Onkyo NR636 and noticed the difference when I replaced it with the NR676. I don't know if it will make a difference on your setup but it did help ours.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No,this is just an audio reciever that has 4k pass thru..your cable picture quality will look the same with or without this reciever..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the broadcast is in 4k format it will be 4k which can be hard to distinguish between regular hd, unless your savvy. The really good thing is that all your devices, dvd, Apple TV, roko, amazon fire tv, etc all connect to the receiver so there is only one hd cable going to your TV, much cleaner setup. Any 4k receiver will offer this advantage, even less expensive. This would be a good choice because 170 watts per channel. To get the full experience you will need 7 speakers and a sub woofer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To my understanding, the receiver alone will not improve the 4K picture. The source, such as cable/set top box, 4k Blu-Ray player or gaming consoles can improve your picture quality. If you have Netflix through your cable/Blu-Ray/gaming consoles, then search Netflix for 4k movies; this will provide you with a 4k picture on your tv.
