“Connected blue ray player to the unit via hdmi then hdmi out to TV using ARC hmdi input on tv. 1) Setup says ARC not functioning and 2) Cannot get video or audio from blue ray player unless I connect player directly to tv. Anyone else had these issues?”

I had this receiver 3 months couldnt get arc to work. Tv would go off but not come on together with the receiver. I finally shut arc off and it works. Seems like the commands are reversed in my receiver. Onkyo support was no help!

Whenever l used Netflix or any other pre-loaded tv apps there is picture but no audio directly from tv. l get the same ARC error message. l ended up using a digital optical audio cable from the tv to the receiver in order to get sound. l will be calling Onkyo customer support for help. Try updating your firmware to see if it remedy the situation. I updated mine but haven't had the time too check if it's fix. Hope l was able to be of some help.
