Yes, you can use the receiver with only 2 speakers and a subwoofer connected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it’s fine to use it with just two speakers and a sub. You could also add a center channel if you’re just using it with a TV for now. I’m using a 3.1 setup in my living room since running rear speakers is not feasible at the moment.

It is absolutely a wonderful receiver! Made my kef q300 speakers sing, I thought my previous Yamaha was great until it went out and replaced with this and it felt like I spent money on an entirely new setup, couldn't be happier! Pull the trigger you won't regret it!
