I would recommend a receiver. It has a 3.5 mm mini jack audio output. I run my PS4 and cable box through my receiver using hdmi cables.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can plug speakers into the back, as long as the speakers are powered. Otherwise you’d need a receiver. And yes you can hook it up to your cable box. I use it with my Roku.

Please try again later.You can hook your cable box up to it via HDMI. if you can get sound out of your cable box that would probably be the route to go unless you want to use a receiver. the projector has speakers inside of it, but they don't sound great. They will do the job, but if you want an immersive experience then speakers are the way to go. Hope that helps.
