• A:Answer Moisture can damage any electronic device. Fog from a fog machine is moist. The fan on the projector has open vents. This would allow the fog in. I wouldn't recommend using a fog machine near this device, not to mention it could create issues for the lense. Finally, the online manual (yeah, I read that long thing) states that any damage due to moisture/condensation/water exposure voids Any warranty. I would assume that includes additionally purchased warranties as this would be considered negligence.

• A:Answer As long as it is listed as 3D, it will work. The things to look for are 1) does it need an adapter to work in 3D mode (many do, no biggie) 2) can you use aftermarket brand 3D glasses or must you use manufacturers brand (this can be limiting and costly)

• A:Answer Yes, but unless you are running everything through a surround sound system first (HDMI switching) you won't get very good sound at all. I am using a Bose lifestyle system with 4 HDMI switching ports, then running one HDMI out to the Projector. Great sound and great picture this way. Unfortunately this projector doesn't have an audio out option so this is the only way to get great sound.

Q: QuestionAre there any projectors that you can watch 3D w/ Passive (throw away) 3D glasses like you get at the theater?

• A:Answer No, no DLP projectors will allow for Passive 3D glasses (These would be the same as used in the Theater.) There is an aftermarket option that you can install in front of an active shutter system, but it is just as expensive as the projector and greatly reduces the brightness of the image thrown. Active to passive conversions also recommend a silver screen to properly throw the 3D images. I have a LG LED tv that I will use for casual 3D viewing that uses the passive glasses, but when I want a more Dynamic and large scale viewing I will use the projector with Active shutter lenses.

• A:Answer Not sure really. Mine says HDMI 1 & 2. Maybe they coded the old remote to work with this new device. I know the remote used for the old VGA model looks very similar to this one.

• A:Answer I have my projector at 25ft from the neighbors garage wall and the picture looks great. It is definitely larger then 120" and I'm sure you can get it to fit a 120" screen at 30ft. I even have the lights on and you can see the picture great.

• A:Answer I got a Onkyo - 925W Home Theater System Model Number: HT-S5800 (SKU: 4350926) and it works great. The wires that came with it are configured for the AV receiver to be by the screen so you will need either long HDMI or extra speaker wire. My AV and BR player are in the back of the room and 40 foot speaker wires are no problem. I leave the speakers in the Optoma at a low setting for the center of the room from above; but it is not necessary. A non-AV point: If you are doing 3-D, don't forget a RF emitter for the Optoma to sync the glasses.
