• Basically the same tech but this only takes an OTA antenna signal. Your 500 model can grab a video signal from other hardware. The Airtv also uses a different app.

• I don't know. I'm not sure what slingplayer is. I can watch my home TV channels from my phone if that's what you're asking about.
