Yes it does but it is not the most ideal way if you plan to always keep the pencil on it. I would recommend the uag case for carrying an apple pencil

It’ll store the pencil in the removable cover and can charge and pair the pencil on the iPad when you lift up the rubberized side flap on the actual iPad case. The pencil will magnetically stay in place beneath the flap but I wouldn’t recommend utilizing that as the primary pencil storage. It’s only a temporary spot to place the pencil for charging or quick access if you’re not lugging around the plastic cover.
