• Mine did not come with a screen protector of any kind. The case has raised edges to prevent screen damage. I left the thin plastic from the new phone on mine and it fits edge to edge where it meets the case.

• No. Theoretically, the Samsung display is fairly tough. I've had Samsung S5 and S7 for years with no scree issues.
