Everything in California causes cancer. Prop 65 says that anything that might be a carcinogen has to be labled. As long as you are not planning on eating and digesting the case, or using it as a plate, you should be fine. Basically, if this was to get into your body, it might make you sick. The equivalent of a "Do not put your hand in the lawnmower while it is running" sticker.
