Q: QuestionIs the sanitizing light UV? If so, how many watts is the bulb? Is there an automatic timer for the UV light to avoid UV skin cancer issues and damage to eyes?

• A:Answer Thank you for your inquiry. Most LEDs do not emit any UV. The blue light from LEDs may emit a tiny fraction of UV however the phosphor reduces this amount to such a small fraction of the already small amount, the amount emitted is essentially negligible. The watt of Ottlite's Enhance LED Sanitizing Desk lamp = 5.2 watts. No automatic timer for Spectra Clean (Sanitizing mode) to turn off.
