  • QuestionIs the adjustable motion zone larger with the plug-in powered model than what’s on the battery powered model?

    Asked by Roy.

    • Answer Hi Roy. Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. Yes, however; the motion detection range on all Ring devices is up to around 30 feet with the motion sensitivity slider at the maximum level. Larger objects in the distance, such as vehicles, might still cause a motion alert. If you turn motion sensitivity down, this range will be lower. • QuestionDo I have to have some kind of subscription that I have to pay for to use this camera and also can I add onto the camera by buying another one at some future date?

    Asked by RO.

    • Answer Short answer: No — but it depends what you want it to do. You can use your Ring camera or doorbell for free — you’ll still get: Live video (you can open your app and see what’s happening right now). Alerts and two-way talk when motion is detected or someone rings the doorbell. TechRadar Where the subscription comes in is recording and storing video: Without a subscription, Ring won’t keep clips or history — so you can’t play back videos later. TechRadar With a Ring Protect plan, your camera will record video clips to the cloud so you can review them anytime, share them, and save them. Ring offers different subscription

  • QuestionCan this camera be connected to a solar panel?

    Asked by GG.

    • Answer Hi GG. We appreciate the time you have taken to ask this question. Yes, the Ring Outdoor Cam Plus can connect to a Ring Solar Panel. The device's battery level may vary based on the amount of direct sunlight the solar panel receives. It is important to ensure that your Ring Solar Panel is installed correctly and that it is receiving enough direct sunlight to operate as intended. For best performance, Ring recommends at least two to three hours of direct sunlight for the Ring Solar Panel. With the recommended amount of direct sunlight, the device will remain continuously charged under most conditions. • QuestionBattery Life? How to recharge? Should I purchase extra batteries?

    Asked by jnt81101.

    • Answer Hi jnt81101. Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions. Batteries in Ring devices are designed to go months between charges under normal conditions. However, real battery life is dependent on a number of factors, such as local weather, the number of events captured, and the frequency of activation. To charge the battery for your Ring Outdoor Cam Plus, Battery, remove the Quick Release Battery Pack from the device and connect it to a common micro-USB cable, such as the orange one included in your Ring box. Simply plug it into any USB power source. Having a second battery is optional, but it allows you to swap batteries instantly so your camera stays online while the first one is charging. • QuestionIs anyone having trouble with the image being foggy during night operation

    Asked by farside.

    • Answer Hi farside. Thank you for your question today! As the weather gets colder, you may notice some condensation forming on your Ring camera lens. Rest assured this is normal for Ring devices. To remedy this, we recommend using an anti-fog product on the lens to prevent it from reappearing. While there's not a particular product we can recommend, some of our neighbors have found success using Rain-X products which should help with the condensation you're receiving from the cold weather. • QuestionIs this cameras mount anti theft??

    Asked by Crystal.

    • Answer it will record the porch pirates or any one that came in the camera detection zone, you may consider subscribe to the basic plan for the camera and get access to the archive of videos. One thing to consider is the thieves can rip the camera off but they (should) are already be recorded as soon as they approach and the video will be stored cloud base, then it's up to the police to get them.
