It does come with a small cookbook with great tips on how to cook just about everything, including rice! However, it does not have a rice cooking setting.

You can cook 1/2 – 1 1/2 cups of rice by placing the rice with hot tap water in a microwave safe casserole dish. A cook book is not supplied with the microwave, however you can find instructions for cooking and heating different dishes in the manual of the unit. - S
