The light does not come on when I open the door. I suppose it's more important to light up while cooking, in order to see if something's going to boil over.

This is very frustrating, but more and more manufacturers are making them this way. Supposedly it is more energy efficient, but I have my doubts (who leaves the door open all day? How much energy could you possibly use just opening and shutting the door? ) It does make it harder to clean the inside.
