A:Answer It will work as a CD player without being hooked to a TV but you will need a TV to run setup and to update the player. Once setup is done you can use as cd player without TV. It might not need setup if it plays CD the first time you hook it up, I do not know whether it will or not play without setup. However, after setup it will play for sure without a tv.
