Will this corded handset work if power goes out? null

This unit has the capability of using the base unit IF there is a battery installation application, page 10 of guide. Temporary use is through the insertion of 2 AAA batteries, standard non-rechargeable alkaline, in the base unit. Long term use is using rechargeable Ni-MH batteries in the base unit. Alert to inserting the alkaline batteries after the power failure and removal when power returns.
