Hello, thank you for your comment. If you pair your base unit with a Smart Phone then you can get ALERTS regarding Text messages, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Gmail. Email, Google Calendar and Low battery information. If you have an Android Smart Phone you will have to download the Link to Cell app, if you are an iPhone or BlackBerry user then the Link to Cell app is not required.
