A:AnswerI don't know if there are other uses, but on this model it allows me to sync it to my cell phone. For us it's nice if our grown kids call one of our cell phones our home phone also rings. So we don't miss calls, can pass phone between people easily and have the ergonomic comfort of a handheld phone as opposed to cell phone. Also won't miss a cell call when it's on other side of the house or charging. Can connect and disconnect the link on a time by time basis easily. There is also the option to get notifications when texts come in but I don't want that so I have that feature turned off. And if this seems complicated to set up, it's not. I never even got out the instruction manual cause it was so obvious in the phone menu and only took a second.
A:AnswerSelect Menu and arrow down to Time & Date an press Select and arrow down to Time Adjustment. If your phone service supports Caller ID you can select that and it will get time and date from your phone company.

A:AnswerWell, we bought the phone, and found that nothing works without batteries. In other words, the corded phone does not get a dial tone without batteries, so it is not like the old-fashioned corded phones that worked off the line voltage. The odd thing is that the instructions tell us to install the batteries in case of emergency, and then to REMOVE them after the emergency. Or, use rechargeable batteries all the time. This would all have been useful to include in the promo materials.
A:AnswerThis is a standard telephone for 1 telephone line. It gives you the more than 1 handset but you cannot be talking on 1 receiver and then have somebody else use a different receiver to make a separate phone call out.
