Hi there! There are two different ways to connect your cell phone to the Panasonic system. If you keep your landline cable connection and connect a cell phone to the Panasonic, you will have two different phone numbers, one for the cell and one for the landline. If you choose to only use your cellular line, without a landline cable connection the cell and the landline will share the same phone number. Additionally, you can connect different brands of cell phones for example Apple, Samsung, LG, Huawei or Motorola. The cell phone does not need to be a Panasonic model. We hope this information will be useful! - S

I don't know about different numbers, but if you have a landline number, you can connect your cell phone to answer that landline number through your cell phone. I don't know about a landline number and cell phone number being the same. Technically it might be very, very difficult to accomplish, and you as an individual consumer probably won't have the technical resources nor your cell phone service company's cooperation to have two separate things, one a landline (POTS) and one a cell phone (mobile), with the same literal phone number.
