“Can I use this phone without a land line? And use 2 cell phones with blue tooth connection only when in range? We want to get ride of our land line but also dont want to carry the cell phone on our person when at home.”

This system has a "cell phone only" feature that allows you to link two cellphones and not be tied to a landline. If not connected to a landline, the menu has a "landline off" selection. You may leave your cell anywhere in range of the base unit, (even on a charger) and answer calls using the handsets.
