No, the controls are not back-lit. You will need to turn on the lights to read the buttons. However, if you are using it with Alexa you can simply say “Alexa, microwave on high for two minutes” and it will turn on and go. Also, there is no clock display. The clock display will turn on if you hit the cancel button but it turns off after a few minutes but you have Alexa, you can say Alexa what time is it.
