• Compared to dedicated streamers this blu-ray player doesn't offer as good of video quality. That said most devices such as this and other disc players, streaming devices, and AV receivers can upscale lower resolution to 4k. However this isn't necessarily better. Unless you have an entry level TV your TV's video chip does a better job up upscaling an image to 4k than any source device. It is detrimental to picture quality to have multiple devices attempting to upscale an image due to it creating artifacts in the image. Either way, in my experience, you'll need native 4k content and to see a noticeable difference.
