Yes on the back usb port.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.USB 3.0 hard drives work but must be plugged into the rear USB3.0 input. The front USB2.0 input works with flash drives. One thing though, the UB820 is not the best device for playing video files. It will play MKVs but cannot play lossless audio tracks (DolbyTrue, DTS MA-HD or Dolby Atmos). It also doesn't recognize chapter marks in MKVs. In this particular area the LG UBK90 is a more versatile player.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The rear port is USB 3.0
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The manual for the UB820 explicitly states that it supports USB 3.0 HDD. I can't quite confirm this through my own experience, but I have come close: I have successfully played video from a portable HDD, using a USB 3 cable, but I'm not sure offhand if my HDD actually delivers 3.0 speed. Be aware that the UB820 has two USB ports, a 2.0 on the front and a 3.0 on the back.
