There is no additional thing you need to purchase if you don't need GPS data and hard-wire kit.
For how long does the dash cam record for, it will depends on the capacity of the micro SD card.
If you are using the 8GB micro SD card, the dash cam can record about an hour before loop recording. Once the card is full, the dash cam will start overwriting old files to keep itself loop recording.
If you are using 32GB micro SD card, it can record about 4 hours before it loop recording.
