Will it work for a stereo also null

Yes you just have to program it for the stereo

I haven’t tried it but it works on my new TV and Direct TV DVR. It has a button that says AMP. That may be for sound equipment.

I have a Sony stereo surround system and it works with that so I imagine it should work with others.

IT does support 4 other devices, most recent stereos should be supported

Did not work for a Sony STR-DH720 receiver.

I have a Sony str770 home theater receiver and operates some controls and can learn about 5 control buttons. Can also operate other brands.

Buy a different remote. This remote is terrible. I could not get it to work with my Samsung TV and the remote broke after a couple months.
