Absolutely must have for anyone who loves movies. I purchased it because I was tired of the constant blue light on the game controller while watching movies with the lights off. The programming of additional devices is so simple, I programmed my TV and DirecTV accidentally as I was programming my sound system.

Generally good, but the mute button is much to small, it uses AAA rather than AA batteries so you have to replace batteries often due to AAA small volume. In addition it often fails to connect to the PS4 and you have to go into settings - devices - Bluetooth devices and remove it then reconnect it to the PS4. But at least it provides an acceptable way to control your PS4 with batteries which last far longer than the standard controller. Despite my complaints I would recommend this to others.

Overall this remote is amazing!! Not only does it work for my PS4 but it also works on my smart TV AND my analog av control receiver (aka stereo with TV/video capability)!! It even allows me to pull up my apps on my TV. The only drawback to it and this is probably not Sony's fault is the fact that it does not work with my Comcast set top box, even though it is supposed to. Comcast is always changing things around so they very well could have changed the codes for that option after the remote cam out on the market. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who is looking to buy it.

I don't believe this was everything that it I thought it was going to be. It did not eliminate my auxiliary remote for my Samsung speakers. It did however, eliminate the TV, and cable box remote, as well as being convenient using it for simple things on the Ps4 itself. It is slim and takes up little space. It depends on what you want to use it for. It does eliminate 2 remotes. Overall, for the cheap price, it is hard to complain. Comes in handy.

I love this remote it’s perfect considering we use our PS4 for everything we watch ! I also didn’t want to continue to use the controller and the remote at the same time, I usually lose the remote but this one is so convenient.

It took me 30 seconds to program the ps4 and about one minute to program the tv.

Great for watching movies on PS4, can skip annoying on screen controls for movies and videos.

I recently bought this remote cause I was tired of using my dualshock controller, this remote works great the only thing I dislike its a to long and has many useless buttons but besides that works as intended..

Keys are clear and able to be viewed. The options it offers is superb. Soft keys. Quiet when pressing.

I bought A remote for me to use on my PS4 and loved it so I bought one for my cousin.

When I first started using this setup was easy as adding a second controller. Function at the start were basic and only worked in Netflix and a few other apps but did not work in YouTube or Amazon Prime. After a recent PS4 Firmware better functionality has been added to the remote within the PS4 apps and now works with YouTube and Amazon Prime. If you are a heavy PS4 Media user this is a must. The universal remote works perfectly with my TV and cable box, although I am using my cable box less and less. Sony looks as if over time will update firmware of the PS4 to add better compatibility. Only issue I have is the power saving feature of the remote disconnects from the PS4 to save battery has no way of being changed. Right now after a certain time limit you have to reconnect the remote back to the PS4 before you can start using it, a mild issue when trying to pause a long movie quickly.

i bought cuz i getting tired of the ps4 controller cuz if u lay in the bed or table the L2 and R2 keep pressing when u watching NETFLIX so i got this so i dont have to deal missing part of the movie and the bad part not all tv work on this controller for old ones same with ps3 same reason

I was a bit hesitant to make the purchase because of the price and some of the negative reviews, but after dealing with just the game controller for bluray play back, I had to give it a try. After following the instructions to the letter, I had all my important devices working with it. In fact, it has all the functions of my my tv remote that not even my uverse remote can do! Some reviews complain about the volume pass through, but mine works just fine. My only issue is that, because of my power settings on the ps4, the remote gets disconnected and it take a few seconds to reconnect so I can pause (or use other functions) in the middle of a movie, which can be a little annoying, since you'd like to be able to use those functions instantaneously.

Great style, and easy to program. Not what I expected in functionality. Buttons don't work for almost any apps once using the app (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu). New update for remote would make this accessory worth it, but not quite there yet.

Bought this to accomplish 2 things: 1) reduce the number of remotes on my nightstand. Mission accomplished, although I had to manually enter the codes for my devices because the auto programming only wanted to find my TV. There are 4 programmable soft keys so you can teach it to use functions that would otherwise only be found on your manufacturer remote. Real easy to set up. 2) operate my PS4 with ought draining controller battery My most frequently used app is the WWE Network, the remote works great with it, that's all I've tested it on so far, but it works, I'm happy. This is a good remote, it's much better to use it to control the PS4 streaming apps like Netflix, Amazon, etc. than to use the PS4 controller and drain the battery while watching. It's good as a universal remote and works for your TV and cable box too. The only drawback is the volume function for the TV does not work while using it to stream videos or work the cable box, you have to switch over to TV mode to use the volume button.

This is a great little remote. The pairing of the device to the PS4 isn't terribly hard and depending on the other devices is just a matter of time. My only frustrations with the remote are how quickly it goes to sleep and how not all apps have built in compatibility for all functionality. However, these are minimal and with app updates I hope they will be addressed.

I love the remote. It was a little hard to set up TV and AV codes in remote. (have Sony for both) it did set up and everything works good. the one big thing you need to remember is that remote will disconnect from PS4. after some time but just hit the ps4 button and good to go. Also slow to turn on but just because it has to connect to PS4 first. Love the remote easy to use.

I bought the remote because I was tired of charging the PS4 controller so often and the cable is way too short to have it close while charging. Problem solved. The only reason I didn't give the 5 stars is because there is a lag when you havent pressed any button for some minutes while it reconnects. Not a deal breaker but a little bit annoying.
