Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi the simple answer is it’s not 100% waterproof. However this case is water resistant. What this means is that if you’re transporting this case in the rain the contents should remain dry, but if this case were to be submerged possibly below 1 foot of water it may not retain its hydrophobic seal. Although there is a gasket to keep the water out. The type of locking mechanism on these cases do not close and seal in a way that is one hundred percent airtight. There is also the fact that the specifications state that there is a 3 µm hydrophobic non-woven purge vent material. So, this material allows air to pass through it but not water. This is great for pressure changes when going up or down an altitude but it probably only protects against water penetration up to a very small amount. Even going onto the manufactures website does not give any information about an IPv rating. So my advice is if you need a case for 100% water protection you might wanna look elsewhere. There is a phone number that you can call from the manufacturer to get more information. I have not called this number because I don’t care about 100% water proof, but here it is for you. https://www.pelican.com/us/en/support/contact-us/ Or +1 (844) 805-8142
