This bulb can simply be inserted into a light and be controlled by the dimmer switch. However, if you do want to set up multiple rooms and lights, you just need to have the Philips Hue Bridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The box says that you will be able to operate the bulb right out of the box with the dimmer switch. I know you would not have to have an Alexa or Home Pod to operate the lightbulb, but you would have to have a Phillips Hue bridge to connect the bulb with the Hue App and your WIFI so you can operate the bulb with a smart phone, Alexa, Home Pod, or iPad.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No they do not need to connected to the Alexis or HomeKit. They work with just the dimmer switch
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This light is awesome. You don’t have to use Alexa or similar. I just screwed it in my lamp and stuck the dimmer on/off switch to the wall and control it with that. Works great and on/dimmer switch looks great as well. Sticks to the wall, I put mine right next to the rooms other light switch.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Need the hue hub and a smartphone to hook up. After that switch will work on its own
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works right out the box. Plug it in like you would any other light bulb... And now you have a light bulb that has its own light switch. You can pair it with Alexa which is just an added feature
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to have a Hue hub connected to your wifi. It works through your homes wifi and can be used with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home. I use it with all of them.
