“I already have one of these in my kitchen controlling a light above my sink. If I purchase another one and install it in the same room will the remotes be turning on both lights or are the remotes sinced to each bulb separately”

Short answer is no they should not control both. These kits come preprogrammed together. If you wanted to change that though you just need to go into your hue app on your smart phone and reprogram the remotes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe by default out of the box, the remote will be synced with the bulb it comes in the box with. To get it synced with your other bulbs there are extra steps you will need to do. So yes you can have them both synced separately.
