I had a 2nd gen lights then upgraded to 3rd gen and they work just fine. I’m thinking it would be same. The only difference between 2nd gen and 3rd gen is the lumens, which I believe is 800 in the 3rd gen and 600 for the 2nd. Other than that I don’t know of any differences. Perhaps internally they’ve upgraded a few LEDs.
