Awesome lights!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We placed these in our pendant lights in our kitchen and they have been awesome! We got them when we got the Amazon Echo, so we can tell Alexa to turn them on and off. It's fun to be able to set them to different colors and scenes (Christmas colors are what I show in the picture) and have them turn on and off hands free!

Light your way with Siri or Alexa
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything you need is in the box. I don't know how I ever got by without these lights, Updates from HUE Labs lets you set new scenes and moods. You can set your lights to play different colors or just wake up when you do. Turn off when you leave or arrive home. The colors are rich and the whites are warm and also cool and bright. Bright as a 75watt lamp. Your going to wish you ordered more after you get this home. Works with Apple Home App and Siri. Come with a hub, set up is easy. You will need need is WiFi to set it up.

Wow, they weren't kidding
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Hue lights have seriously changed my mental health/life for the better. They help me with more than I ever dreamed. I was interested in them when they just came out (1st Gen.) after a friend of mine got them! Boy, they have grown up, I picked up the 3rd Gen at Best Buy, and they know when I leave my room have over 200 3rd party iOS apps and Android apps that allow for syncing to video, music, helping you wake up the things this 3rd generation kit can do is phenomenal.

Bright and vibrant colors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It provides bright and vibrant colors. Works best when you hardwire the light switch to the on position and place a hue dimmer switch over it. This will allow it to remember the color you last used while giving you quick and easy everyday access. I also heard Alexa & Siri work well to control the lights.

They Got It Right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the concept of this sort of lighting system but I also love the color blue to set some moods. The 3rd generation allows a broader spectrum of color, and the installation is a breeze. Well worth the price to start and build your system.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between this one and the 2nd Generation model
Asked by Drew.
- A:Answer The 3rd generate has better blues/cyans/greens than the 2nd gen - but the important part is the wireless security implemented. The 3rd gen hub uses secure Wi-Fi connections. This is a requirement for any device to be compatible with the Apple Home app. This means that the 3rd gen can be controlled using Siri.

Q: QuestionCan one bridge or kit control one room or a whole house? Do you have to have an individual kit for each room?
Asked by mad4sports.
- A:Answer A single bridge can support up to 50 lights. So, you would only need one bridge in most cases. I guess its possible the bridge could be in a location that couldn't reach some of your lights but i have not seen anyone complain of such issues.

Q: QuestionHow long do the Gen3 bulbs last?
Asked by VNunez.
- A:Answer The spec says 25000 hours. It's not clear if this is the MTBF or if is the L70 curve. If you run them for 8 hours every night, that should work out to about 8.5 years of life. My guess is that some will probably fail before 25000 hours and some will fail after that. Part of that will probably depend on how cool the bulb stays when it is operating. In an enclosed light fixture, they will get hot.

Q: QuestionDoes this work with google home? How do you set it up?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, these bulbs work with Google Home. You just download he Google home app and hue app and follow the instructions to integrate the two.
Answered by Mower
Q: QuestionCan you put one of these bulbs in the enclosed light fixture over the front door (on the outside) and use your phone to turn it on when you drive up?
Asked by 127.
- A:Answer Yes you're able to put them in an outside light as long as it's close enough to pick up the wifi. However you'll only be able to turn them on if you are connected to the wifi on your phone and the signal is strong enough. The only reason you wouldn't be able to do that is if your connection isn't strong enough.

Q: Questioncan you change the color with google home?
Asked by cmiller.
- A:Answer Yes. I use Google Home to change the color. You can change them all at once or choose an individual light to change. I recommend not using numbers (1, 2, 3) when you label each light because Google Home can confuse them for brightness settings.

Q: QuestionWill this system work with an in-ground pool lighting system? Will the bridge and router send the color signal to the underwater unit?
Asked by swimfan34.
- A:Answer Almost certainly not. Hue uses ZigBee for communication and ZigBee is a low-power standard that operates in the 2.4GHz frequency range. 2.4GHz waves are absorbed very efficiently by water.
