No, alexa can do it or the hue app on your device will allow you to do it manually

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If your lights are "connected" they can be dimmed using the Hue app, siri, google home, Alexa and several other ways. There is also a smart dimmer switch that can be used to dim and brighten the lights. You can purchase the dimmer alone or with a single bulb. The combination pack is a better buy. I do not know but assume they can be dimmed using a regular dimmed switch intended for LED bulbs.
