These are also LED lights, but much more expensive. With the Phillips lights you can control them by voice if you have the “hub” that’s WiFi connection. And an echo or Alexa. Ask any of the kids at Best Buy and they will tell you a lot. With regular LED lights you can get them to work by voice command but you need the special plugs that connect to WiFi. Good luck...it’s kind of complicated, but I’m 71 and I figured it out...lol PS I’m not sure how you tell the difference. We bought our Phillip Lights at Best Buy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They just press in and are held by friction vs being held in be two prongs that fit into slots on each side. I’m happy with mine ( try one of each if you want to see side by side as far as brightness) but these are the only ones to be controlled by an app thru your Wifi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. What he is talking about do cost less, but are not a simple screw in bulb and are not generally compatible with Alexa/Apple HomeKit/Google Home without paying more. The ones that snap right in are full fixtures with an integrated light. I wouldn’t recommend them, because when one dies on you, there’s no guarantee you’re going to find a matching fixture. With these, they just screw in like a regular bulb, work with all the home automation kits AND don’t require you to pull your cans out of the ceiling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not the same since these are the 'normal' bulb you would put in a lamp or hanging light. There are LED lights that he was talking to you about but this is a many color light to replace an incandescent bulb or the CFL we replaced it with. BR30 LED's will fit in some can lights but the trim ring you have may need to be changed too. See if Philipp's has the Hue lights for the can lights.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Maybe. To my understanding, these require the can to still be installed and are a replacement to the bulb and trim that used to go in the can. Specifically, this is the BR40 size bulb (a 5" or 6" diameter opening). The other size Hue sells for can lights is the BR30 which is a 4" opening. I would suggest you take a few picture of your can light (with measurements) and go to your local big box store for help finding what you need. Then once you know, compare to the Hue offerings.
