A: The overall diameter is 7.3''.
A: These are also LED lights, but much more expensive. With the Phillips lights you can control them by voice if you have the “hub” that’s WiFi connection. And an echo or Alexa. Ask any of the kids at Best Buy and they will tell you a lot. With regular LED lights you can get them to work by voice command but you need the special plugs that connect to WiFi. Good luck...it’s kind of complicated, but I’m 71 and I figured it out...lol PS I’m not sure how you tell the difference. We bought our Phillip Lights at Best Buy.
A: As long as you have a can housing in your soffit these will fit. The light needs the “walls” of the can to hold on to. That said, while many (almost all) others have stated that it was easy for them to pop the lights into the can, I had issues doing so - I fact I had to make a special fixture for putting them into my cans (kitchen ceiling) - I wouldn’t recommend that anyone to go through the pains that I went through in doing so - but I really wanted to have these lights so I made the fixtures. The issue probably was with my cans, not the lights. Another option for you is to replace you current switch with a smart switch and keep your current lights. The switch can be app controlled. In fact this is a better and much cheaper option in my opinion to get the same results. Hope this helps.
A: Yes. With the Phillips app you can control them individually. I would recommend buying the br 30 lights instead though.
Q: Do they make these in coloring changing?
A: They now have the color versions available.
A: These are WAY brighter than Hue. I was very disappointed when I purchased my first smart lights (Hue). I can't stand to have the TP-LINK bulbs at 100% (too bright for me) but it's nice to have when you need it.
A: We have two of them in our shower and have had no issues after a year. We also have 6 of them on our deck and they have been great.
A: Yes, Philips Hue works with Amazon Alexa, Apple Homekit, and Google Home. I have all 3.
