Q: QuestionWhen set to 3000K white and turned up all the way, how bright are these compared to most Par38 bulbs? The specs say they are only 700 lumen. That seems really low (the Par38 bulbs I currently have in my ceiling cans are 1100 lumens).

- A:Answer No. These are designed to go into an existing recessed lighting can/fixture. They wire in by screwing into the blub socket with an adapter that plugs into the bulb.

- A:Answer One per box. They screw into a standard light socket in a recessed lighting fixture. There are two sizes, so be sure to get the one for your fixture (4" model and 5"/6" model).

- A:Answer These units are not outdoor rated, so you'd be using them at your own risk if you install them outside. As an alternative, you could install third party recessed fixtures and install Hue outdoor bulbs in them.

Q: QuestionIs this item really sold out or is it just not avaialble to order yet? The 4inch version shows available but other new hue products show as "Sold Out"like this 5/6 inch recessed light does.

Q: QuestionI have blown in insulation, could these start a fire, or are they rated and protected not to?

- A:Answer They are a retro fit style and do not get that hot at all. Your existing can light body will stay in place so that will also protect it from getting hot. You will just take the bulb out and screw in the adapter then plug in and push up. That's it.

- A:Answer Use Krylon fusion spray paint. Works well and lays down super easy. That's my go to paint for anything and will stick very well to just about anything.
