Yes. You can change it to almost any shade you want it to be.

It is multicolor, but will not do white which was pretty disappointing since I asked the sales associate and they told me otherwise.

Yes, the Bloom is multi colored with those colors controlled by the Phillips Hue App. I have 16 Philips Hue bulbs. I control them mostly via my Amazon Alexa/Echo voice command. I also use an app named IFTTT (If this, then that). I program specific "colors" into an IFTTT "recipe" for each individual colored bulb and that allows me to verbally change the colors of my Philips Hue colored bulbs. A Philips Hue BRIDGE is required to connect the bulbs to the apps . The Philips BRIDGE is connected to my Router. Connecting the bulbs to the Bridge is very simple. I'm not sure if the Bloom will work without being connected to a Bridge & if The Bloom does work without the Bridge, I'm not sure how one would control the colors of The Bloom. When I use my light switch to turn my Philips Hue Bulbs off & on, the light switch reverts/changes the colored bulbs back to the standard bright White. I have not used my Bloom without the APP, so I'm not sure how The Bloom works without the Philips APP / Philips Bridge. I hope my information helps you.
