Does this work with 5GHz wifi? null

It does not use the WiFi. It uses a direct wire connection to your router/switcher. Hue uses ZigBee to communicate in between devices thus leaving your WiFi network free of any interruptions and unnecessary broadband congestion.

It does work with 5GHz WiFi. I have mine set up that way. The 5GHz signal from the router is not as strong as the 2.4GHz, but has been working okay. It may just be a quirk but it seemed that using the same WiFi band on my Galaxy Note 8 and the Hue Hub (either both 5GHz or both 2.4GHz) worked the best when installing.

No..You have to plug the hue hub into your router, it doesn't connect via wifi.

No..You have to plug the hue hub into your router, it doesn't connect via wifi.
