This CAN nick and cut you if you are not using the end with the guard and the guard on! I bought it with high hopes of getting a semi close shave in my sensitive areas and was cut twice within seconds! With the guarded end it works fine but is only good for a light trim, not "shaving". And if you don't get a clean cut or feel it pull at all, I would return it immediately! Mine cut poorly and also pulled hairs and I'm not sure if mine just happened to have dull blades right out of the box, or if it's just a crummy trimmer? So my advice to you is, if you're not happy with it right away, don't hesitate, return it!!
