Cpap provides pressurized airflow to overcome airway issues that Obstructive Sleep Apnea patients suffer with. In essence, cpap helps avoid hypoxic episodes, which can number in the hundreds for severe cases. This device is preported to use sound to influence brain waves with the intended effect of more restful sleep. It can not counteract hypoxia nor the sleep interruptions it causes.

Sleep apnea is a biomechanics obstruction to air flow; this supposedly manipulates brain waves, REM sleep and deep sleep brain function. I am an MD, but NOT a sleep specialist. Sleep lab assessment should determine your specific factors, and usually a pulmonary specialist or ENT/otolaryngologist will help analyze the results with regard to your best course of action.
