- Answer If you want the sound to come through your speakers you will have to play back through the receiver. Other than that, you can play it through your TV. You will not enjoy the sound as well doing it that way, if you want to maximize your receiver and the listening experience using your receiver will be much better!!!

QuestionZone 2Hi, I'd like to know if this receiver can handle 5.2.2 in the main zone plus 2 speakers on Zone 2 , it has all the speakers connections for it , but some receivers you have to use one or the other and not both (Atmos +zone2 or 7.2+Zone2). Thanks.

QuestionWhat connections are available?I have to connect a VHS player, a dual cassette player, a DVD player and possibly an old fashioned LP record player, none of which have HDMI connections. Therefore, I need (or would like) to have enough analog connections to use the Old-Fogey devices with the modern A/V receiver. I cannot tell by looking at the picture of the rear of this receiver how many of these pieces I could connect. Or is there possibly a switch box I can connect once to the receiver and 3 or 4 devices to switch between? Or some sort of conversion gizmo that transitions from the RCA jacks to HDMI? I currently have a Sony 5.2 receiver that, like me, is getting older and not working so well anymore and would like to get a 7.2 before my hearing is totally gone. I do have a HDTV with 3D capabilities and a nice Blu-ray player, so not all is lost. Thank you for any input you can offer.

- Answer Hook up 1st pair to the front speaker terminals. 2nd pair for the middle 3rd pair to the rear speaker terminals. All you need is your center speaker. Perfect surround sound setup.

QuestionOSD does not display anymoreWhen I initially setup my pioneer elite with my sony 4k xbr tv the OSD displayed on my tv, however it is not displaying anymore... anyone have the same problem? any resolutions?

- Answer I turned the display off. You could check the setup menu to see if it's still enabled, try power cycling the receiver, and check the connections.

- Answer This device has built in WiFi and Bluetooth. However, devices like this are designed to receive Bluetooth audio - not send.

QuestionWatch one input while listening to anotherI have my xbox one connected to HDMI 1, and my kids are constantly on it. Is it possible to let them play xbox while we listen to another input, like Pandora using this receiver? To put it another way, can we have video playing from one source, while listening to another source?

- Answer Yea, u can run Xbox on zone two and listen to music on zone 1 or vice versa. The amount of speakers playing depends on your set up.

QuestionGetting sound from TV speakers after HDMI is connected to VSX-90Is there a setting on the VSX-90 that would give me the option to get sound from my TV speaker instead of it always running through the A/V receiver? There are times that I don't need the surround sound on with the TV. Since the receiver is in between the cable box and the TV, connected by HDMI cables, I don't know if there is a way to get sound out of just the TV speaker. I have read throough the manual, and have not seen the option.

- Answer You need to go into the on screen Pioneer settings and make the hdmi a pass through. This will allow the signal to go through the receiver when the power is turned off on the receiver. Your TV should then use its own speakers if the receiver is turned off. That is if your using the ARC hookup.
