“Getting sound from TV speakers after HDMI is connected to VSX-90 Is there a setting on the VSX-90 that would give me the option to get sound from my TV speaker instead of it always running through the A/V receiver? There are times that I don't need the surround sound on with the TV. Since the receiver is in between the cable box and the TV, connected by HDMI cables, I don't know if there is a way to get sound out of just the TV speaker. I have read throough the manual, and have not seen the option.”

• You need to go into the on screen Pioneer settings and make the hdmi a pass through. This will allow the signal to go through the receiver when the power is turned off on the receiver. Your TV should then use its own speakers if the receiver is turned off. That is if your using the ARC hookup.

• This is available on the tv. Not the receiver. At least that is the way mine is switched.

• Can't you just mute the receiver and turn up the tv volume?
