“Can I connect speakers to this device and then connect it to a TV? Hi, I have a Philips 8 years old flat screen tv. I was wondering if I can connect my 4 sony speakers totaling 440W power to this device and then connect it to my TV. I have to connect this receiver though to the headphone output jack on the TV. Is that OK?”

All you need to do is hook your speakers to the receiver your cable or video source to the receiver then just take the video out of the receiver to your TV. No audio into your TV. Everything goes through the receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If your TV has an HDMI input, you can connect this to your TV. You should be able to connect your inputs to the AVR, then the audio is going through the AVR. Not sure if you're using a cable box, or a tuner box, or the tuner directly on the TV... if you're using a cable box, or tuner box, you should be able to connect that through the AVR. Beyond this, the AVR supports the audio return channel from the TV over HDMI, so if your TV supports that, you will only need the single connection.
