No, the receiver must be plugged in for the video to pass through. I believe all new pass through receivers are the same. However, depending on the type of TV you are using you may be able to go from media source ie cable box, directv to the TV first and then output the sound via HDMI out or optical cable to your receiver. Then you would be able to unplug the receiver and get normal video but using your TV speakers. I hope this info will help.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends on how cooperative your tv will be with the audio signal. Trace the route of your audio signal from your cable/satellite service. If it goes to the receiver first then the TV you’ll have to send the signal to the TV first from the cable/satellite box instead, THEN send the signal to the receiver. As an aside, I’d want to know is why I have to isolate my surround reciever on its’ own circuit. If your receiver pulls enough power to trip the breaker I’d start getting eletrical estimates towards a fix.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes as long as you do not have your tv or cable box running through your receiver directly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can change the audio output on the TV and use the tv speakers. So far we’ve really enjoyed this receiver. A big improvement over what it replaced. Sound and image quality are excellent.
