Q: QuestionDoes the 502 decode Dts X as well as Dolby Atmos?
Asked by Rockintundra.
- A:Answer Yes, though I only played atmos on mine (no dts x red box rental discs yet). I have mine hooked up for 7.1 normally, and switch to 5.2 via the configuration option in the menu (when needed). You need two extra speakers for this, though this is a much more cost effective option than the higher cost recievers (my old sc-95 which never worked right). The 502 is a great reciever, especially given the close out prices. The newer 503 handles the two extra speakers better, but you lose many features (eq for each channel, class d amps) and is double the price. Given the limited source content, I really don't miss the exra two speakers (can only drive 7 at a time instead of 9).

Q: QuestionWill this transmit to a Bluetooth or wireless speaker??
Asked by alv7722.
- A:Answer Unfortunately, it will not transmit to a Bluetooth device (without adding an external Bluetooth transmitter). However, it does receive Bluetooth signals so you can stream music from a Bluetooth source (e.g., a cell phone) to the AV Receiver.

Q: QuestionCan you watch your tv without the receiver being plugged in .Because I have my old receiver on a circuit breaker I turn off when I'm not using the surround sound .Can I do this with this unit.
Asked by Je123.
- A:Answer No, the receiver must be plugged in for the video to pass through. I believe all new pass through receivers are the same. However, depending on the type of TV you are using you may be able to go from media source ie cable box, directv to the TV first and then output the sound via HDMI out or optical cable to your receiver. Then you would be able to unplug the receiver and get normal video but using your TV speakers. I hope this info will help.

Q: QuestionHow many watts per channel
Asked by Teddy.
- A:Answer Depends on whether your speakers are 4 ohm, 6 ohm, or 8 ohm. The lower the number, the higher the power output. Most consumer level speakers are 6-8 ohm. I’m running 4 ohm so I get about 225 watts per channel.

Q: QuestionI want to upgrade my current Pioneer Elite Receiver for another, HD, that can also handle a preamplifer to power two more rear speakers and an additional subwoofer to compliment my powered subwoofer speakers. What do you suggest?
Asked by Miket.
- A:Answer Hi: In the past I would have definitely recommend Pioneer SC Elite line up. However as of lately I honestly could not recommend the Pioneer Elite SC series. Seem even they're flagship model the SC901 has had some issues and thus have been returned. Pioneer Elite SC series does offer a generous amount of features, but what good is this when some of the basic features doesn't perform properly. Hope this helps but does't deter you from your purchase.
