• SC-LX704 = 135W 9 channel; SC-LX904 = 140W 11 channel

• Primarily the 904 has 2 more channels than the 704. 11.2 vs 9.2. Both receivers have 2 subwoofer outputs and you can adjust them independently via the remote. I have the 704 in a 7.2 configuration (may add 2 height speakers) so if you want a full on atmos setup, the 904 would be appropriate.
