• Yes you can use this for class. My students could hear me for my yoga class. Although I had no music playing in the background so I'm not sure if it would pick music up and make it harder for them to hear your voice.

• If you want loud music at the same time, maybe not. But, if you were jogging and wanted to listen to music, you would use earbuds. Recommend ear buds, or a small speaker you can plug into your phone.
